Who we are

The Path Forward Foundation was established due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, which left a deep and lasting mark on the people and landscapes of Western North Carolina. In response, we committed ourselves to walk alongside the individuals, families, and communities most impacted — not just to help them recover, but to help them rise.

Our mission is to support the creative and cultural heart of our region — the artists, small businesses, and makers that bring vitality, identity, and livelihood to Western North Carolina. We recognize that true recovery goes beyond repairing physical damage; it’s about restoring the rhythms of daily life, reigniting creative economies, and ensuring that the soul of our mountain communities continues to thrive.

Through charitable giving, fundraising, and deep partnerships with trusted local organizations, we channel resources where they can make the greatest impact — sustaining recovery, nurturing resilience, and fostering long-term renewal.

We’re proud to support organizations and initiatives aligned with this vision through The Path Forward Collection, including, but not limited to:

  • River Arts District Foundation (RADA)

  • Arts AVL (formerly Asheville Arts Council)

  • Beloved Asheville

  • Samaritan's Purse

  • World Central Kitchen

  • Western North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church

Through the success of The Path Forward Collection, we were inspired to reach for something bigger—launching The Path Forward Foundation to broaden our reach, deepen our impact, and expand our mission.

Our path forward is grounded in shared purpose and enduring care — because when we invest in the creative spirit and small business lifeblood of our communities, we help rebuild more than what was lost; we help reimagine what’s possible.
